Modernization is great, cosmopolitan cities are great, but it wreaks havoc on the rest of India which does not have the civic services to be able to handle the strain on the environment brought on by modernization. Places other than the top 5 or so big cities, generally take at least 10 years before they can catch up with the big cities.
