Temples don’t have to be grand in size to earn their greatness. The Batu cave temple is one among many Murugan temples that goes to show that Hindus don’t equate greatness to grandness in size. See Murugan. Other small but very great temples that draws crowds of hundreds of thousands every year, are the Palani Murugan temple and Thiruparankundram Murugan temple.
I’ve always wanted to visit the Batu Caves, and as luck would have it on Tuesday, July 18th (particularly auspicious day of week and date for puja towards Murugan), I was given the opportunity. My original plan was to visit KL on my way back from India, but on the trip forward to India, I missed my connecting flight from Kuala Lumpur to Chennai, so ended up staying in Malaysia for a day, and had a chance to go around KL.
Took the train from the airport to KL, from there took a local subway/metro, and caught a bus to the temple. On my way back, stopped by at Petronas Towers.
